The beginnings of panic.

The current level on the panic meter is: 3 out of 10.

I’ve had to work on projects that were due by a specific date before (birthdays, holidays), but never had a deadline that was so concrete before. If I didn’t finish your socks by your birthday/Christmas, tough shit. I would get them done as soon as I could, and not fret about it. But Sockapalooza and my wedding are different. Both of these have hard and fast deadlines that can’t be fudged: the projects must be done by a certain date. Of course, it just so happens that my wedding is 3 days after the sockapalooza deadline, so I have two projects that have to be done around the same time. The sockapalooza socks are going well, though they were annoying me and are currently on the back burner. The wedding shawl…has a long way to go. I’m done with 4 repeats out of 12 on the first section, and have a whole second side to get done after the first 12. So, I guess I have 4 of 24 repeats done. At least it’s fast lace, if there is such a thing.

The Conwy socks for my sister’s birthday that was two weeks ago are half done, though.  How’s that for procrastination?
